Built for businesses that treat surplus cash as a decision, not an afterthought
Allbarnone was founded on a simple observation: most companies manage operating cash with discipline, but treat reserves as something to park and forget. We built a methodical alternative.
From a recurring question to a standing process
Allbarnone began with a question we kept hearing from finance teams: once working capital needs are covered, what should happen to the remainder sitting idle in a current account? The answers we found elsewhere were either overly simplistic or required resources only larger institutions could justify.
We set out to build a structured, repeatable approach to capital allocation that smaller and mid-sized businesses could actually use — one grounded in clear criteria, defined review points, and plain reporting rather than guesswork.
Make disciplined capital allocation accessible to ordinary businesses
We exist to give businesses holding cash reserves a clear, methodical way to put that capital to work — without requiring an in-house treasury function or a leap of faith. Every part of how we work is designed around transparency, structure, and ongoing accountability.
Clarity over complexity
We favour straightforward explanations and documented reasoning over jargon. If a decision can't be explained plainly, we don't consider it ready.
Process before outcome
We believe a sound process, consistently applied, is what produces dependable results over time — not one-off calls or reactive moves.
Accountability by design
Regular review points and plain reporting are built into how we operate, so clients always understand what was decided and why.
The principles behind how we operate
These values guide how we build our process, communicate with clients, and make decisions on their behalf.
Discipline
We apply the same structured criteria consistently, rather than adjusting our approach to fit short-term sentiment.
Transparency
Clients should always be able to see the reasoning behind a recommendation, not just the recommendation itself.
Restraint
Not every quarter calls for action. We're comfortable recommending no change when the process indicates none is needed.
A small, process-driven team
Allbarnone is run by a focused team dedicated to maintaining and refining our allocation process. Rather than scaling headcount for its own sake, we've prioritised keeping our methodology tight, well-documented, and consistently applied across every engagement. Each client relationship is handled with the same structured approach, regardless of size.
